DOEK!

DOEK! is an art and film festival during which the inner city of Schiedam is transformed through light spectacle. Films are projected on the sails of the historic ships in the harbour and combined with performances on the quays.

After being away for 15 years, DOEK! was reintroduced on 28 September, 2024. In the afternoon, the sails were hoisted. In the evening, films and light images were projected onto them. The concept for the festival is originally developed by Frans Huisman.
